About Marisa Zarczynski

Marisa Zarczynski is a native New Yorker and a practicing Art Therapist. She has her B.A in Sociology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. and her M.P.S in Creative Arts Therapy & Creativity Development from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. More than just making art products for sale, she describes her artwork as a healing process. She considers the art process a means to explore the connection between mind and body that can be non-verbal. Most recently she has been concentrating on the personal therapeutic process of art making rather than focusing on the end product.

The artist has additional training from establishments such as LaGuardia High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, The International Center of Photography, The School of Visual Arts, Sheridan College in Canada, The Copper-Hewitt, Cooper Union, the University of the West Indies, LaGuardia Community College, The New School and The Arts Student's League.

While she has lived, previously studied and been inspired by places such as Canada, France, Africa, and Trinidad and Tobago, being a native New Yorker heavily influences her artwork.
